Chess for Kids - Play & Learn App Reviews

This app is pretty good for learning. Unfortunately , I cannot earn more stars than ten even when I am supposed to.

This game is helpful if your learning, Im still learning but Im positive that youll think so to.

Been saying "Ive completed my challenges for the day" for the past two days. If it cant work when its free, why would I spend money on it.

I cant try again in puzzle if I made a mistake :(

I got a Chesskid.com membership for my 8yo son and it was the best $50 Ive spent all year. He especially likes watching the videos -- finds the animation and sound effects hilarious, and the instruction very helpful. We have the app for the ipad, as a way of keeping him off of my laptop. Tech support is very responsive. I once reported a bug and it was fixed the next day. Cant say enough good things about chesskid and chess in general. Such a wonderful way for children to play and learn!

It is a great app. I am hoping that they will add an interactive chess board so that I can teach my nephews on the computer and app.

This has quickly improved my grandsons chess skills and keeps him engaged. Only reason I didnt give it a five is videos wont run on iMac and iPad app doesnt provide me or him his report card to monitor improvement.

Chess Kid is a very fun and educational game. It has puzzles, videos, timed games, and more.I like this app, and I think you will too!

First of all, this chess kid app glitches so much. Often, when I try to play, the screen freezes not letting you move. Once, it was the opponents turn but for some reason, it asked to confirm, but then I couldnt move for some reason. Also, you literally can only watch one or two full videos, and the others require a gold membership which you must purchase. if you do not have one, they cut you off right before you are about to learn the concept, so you cant learn anything from the videos. mostly, this app is horrible because it glitches too much, do not get this app, it isnt useful!

My daughter is on this app aprox 2 hours each day. She loves the videos and the puzzles. It was expensive for the year membership, but well worth it. Other reviewers say its glitchy, but we have not found that to be true. Would highly recommend this to the chess kid or anyone wanting to learn the game.

Great app but all of a sudden it insists I havent watched video 1235 and starts me over! Please fix!

I like the app. Its very helpful, but sometimes it crashes on me (version 2.2.23). Mainly on puzzles. I wish there was a forums to post things on ChessKid.com. (Theres one on Chess.com)

I enjoy playing chess,and competing online against other players,and I have only found two chess other chess games that offer online services.However,I find that if I run out of time the app crashes causing me to have to delete the,download it and then create a whole new profile.It is very frustrating and time consuming to go through this process.I have had five or six accounts as a result of this.Also it randomly says reconnecting, and I cant do anything regardless if I am sure that I have perfect wifi.It doesnt let me do anything until time runs out.Once time runs out I cant exit to the home screen.It only gives me the option to resign or ask for a draw.If I resign it does nothing but keep me on the same screen.I am very disappointed in this app since it is one of the few of its kind that allows me to play with other kids.I have been through too much frustration to even give it two stars.I am sure others are experiencing this problem.I will not return to this app until it has been fixed.-a very disappointed customer

You can do puzzles, play chess, and watch videos. Its pretty cool. Did you know Abraham Lincoln was playing chess vs. a judge? His son knocked over the game, so nobody knows who won.

Chess Kid is an amazing app. It has taught my daughter to play chess without any aggravation. The lessons are easy to follow, the tactic puzzles adapt to her skill level, and she can play against other kids that are at her skill level.

To use this app, you must have an account for both the parent and children using it. Yeah, they neglected to tell you that in the description. And then I read the TOS and Privacy Policy. OH NO WAY. I dont want my children to become marketing value to chess.com. Do they collect data? Yes. Are they sneaky about it? Not at all. Theyre happy to announce how theyre going to make money off your kids and rub it in your face while youre powerless to say no. So, just say no to this app. Its as simple as that.

Chess kid is awesome and with 33 levels of experience its easy to believe bye! (PS its free!)
