Chess for Kids - Play & Learn App Reviews

Server gets disconnected during every game and after every game. Not my wifi problem. Happens with 3G 4G. App itself is fine. Just need to play uninterrupted game! Oh, to add more, sometimes, opponents clock is still ticking as if he didnt play yet, but in fact, its my turn!!!!!!! This has been going on for months! Time to fix, maybe?

Chesskid is a great website with an equally impressive app. My four year old is learning to play and loves to watch the instructional videos. It is a great app for people of all ages. I no longer feel guilty letting my son play on the iPad.

You enter username for your kid and then it takes you to the page to select your avatar. You select that. Then it takes you to another page to select a password and enter email address for the parent. After you do all that, it tells you: oops, this username is already taken and it does not allow you to keep all the info you entered and just pick a new username. You have to go back all these steps and renter the info hoping that it would work this time. Really? I have better things to do with my day.

We are all enjoying this chess app. We are learning chess together and at our own pace through videos, puzzles, and safe on-line play. Try it for free and you can do a lot but likely you will want to keep going. The videos are fun because the makers know how to talk to kids and have a great sense of humor.

Love the app...ton of potential, great material included, but seriously allow users to listen to music while playing please!

Its a good app if you know how to play. But its not if you need to learn. I wanted an app so my child could learn being taught by the app, not by me. If I need to do the job, I dont need the app. Instead, Id use a chess set. But if you already know, its good for you to practice.

Trying to play against computer on easy and it shuts down

This game is so good i ❤️❤️❤️ it. You play against other people but it took a long time to get the username so you have to start all over But other than that its great!

As a family we really enjoy using this app. It helps my kids have good time and learn.

My kids have really increased their chess playing (both quality and quantity) due to this app. There are some things I wish were better though. If you run an older iOS (we have 7 on one iPad) you can use the Fast Chess function. Although the older app does have some functionality (stats) that the newer app doesnt have. The app is limited in many ways. If you log into the Chesskid website you will see that it offers so much more than the app does. I wish the app would offer those achievements and abilities to add friends. Also I wish we had the option to skip the whole password/user id and just let them click on their icon.

Signed up on app but cant log-in on website to check on membership. Refuses log-in with app-created credentials. Numerous attempts to reset password on two separate accounts. Lead to nothing. Dont waste your time.

Its the best for kids and adults

I love this app! I have played chess for years and years. I am terrible! This app allows me to practice against the computer and not embarrass myself. I have several other chess programs that let me do the same thing of course but, there is a difference with this one. With this one I get to win every once in a while. That makes it far more fun!

Cant start it after last update. It crashes upon login. Reinstall does not help.
