Cant add friends for my kids

Very disappointing that we cant have our kids who both have gold memberships become friends. Theres nowhere at all on the page for them to even add a friend. Even when Im on my desktop I cant add a friend for them. Shouldnt we be able to link our kids and let them be friends?
