Chess kid is fun I am 100years old and I have been using it since I was 11 ahhh I miss those days but if you don’t have it download it NOW the only problem is that the Chacters are kind of boring but ehhh Chess Kid your all amazing when I die you will be in my heart forever 😢

I love this app so much! Within a couple of weeks, I was really good at chess and final getting the hang of it! There is an awesome course that you can do to learn and a ton of puzzles, too!

I like this but 3 problems 1. Why does the dog get locked? It’s too easy. 2. Can we have more than 3 Puzzles? 3. Remove the “draw” because I always get it when I checkmate. Please fix this.

My opponent was at 1.5 of a second and I was at 7 minutes. He played his turn, and suddenly I lost because I HAD LOST ALL MY TIME.He was only 1150, which made my score go down. Never will play chess on this again

This is not the way to get a 5 year old interested in chess. Honestly, rebuild it. Signing up, creating accounts, linking accounts, making it easier to play my son in person vs playing kids virtually, pushing all the noise (lessons, puzzles, etc) back. 30 boring customization choices? Put up a box of crayons and let the kids make the board anything they want. Let the pieces be wildly different. Animate them! My son tinkered with this app for 5 minutes, said “I don’t get it”, opened one of the 5 chess apps he has on the iPad, and played chess for 2 hours. This app isn’t it.

This game only let my sister get gold, but not me. So unfair!

ChessKid is a beautifully designed app with fantastic lessons that make learning chess engaging and fun. My first lesson was excellent—clear, interactive, and exactly what I was looking for. I was ready to invest in the full experience… and then I hit a wall. There was no obvious way to go back, continue, or even navigate properly. It felt like the app just abandoned me after the lesson. I was willing to pay, but instead, I got lost in the UI and gave up. For an app that’s clearly built with care, this kind of UX issue is a huge missed opportunity. ChessKid team, please fix this—you’re losing paying customers who actually want to stick around!

I really enjoy using ChessKid to teach my child how to play chess. The website version is fantastic, especially with its Chinese language option and dubbed tutorial videos, which make it very accessible for non-English-speaking users. However, I noticed that the iOS app lacks Chinese language support, which creates a disconnect between the web and app experiences. Adding Chinese language support to the iOS app would greatly improve the user experience for families like mine. It would ensure consistency across platforms and make it easier for children to learn independently. The Chinese-dubbed videos on the website are excellent, and having the same feature in the app would be incredibly helpful. Thank you for considering this suggestion! I believe this update would make ChessKid even more inclusive and user-friendly for a global audience.

OK, so this is where I learn to play chess this game is great. I like the videos. Here’s the problem. Once, I entered a tournament. And then in the second round something happened. I was playing a game and I had about 20 seconds on the clock and my opponent’s clock was about to reach zero, but suddenly it switched. My clock ran out of time which is actually my opponent’s clock because they were switched. So I lost. Also, THE SAME THING HAPPENED JUST TODAY!! I had 3 seconds on my clock and my opponent ran out of time but suddenly my opponent had 9 more seconds and I ran out of time and I lost. Can you please fix this problem? Btw, Sometimes I play Chess.com on my dad’s phone and I love the game reviews. I was wondering if you could add them to ChessKid. Btw I’m 8 years old. Bye!

Couple of months back we bought the yearly gold membership n accidentally our kid logged out of the account. Now we are unable to recover our account n multiple attempts to recover password have proven futile. We have reached out to the contact team but no response. Clicking on reset password link in the email takes us to login landing page n not password reset.. seems broken n ridiculous. Trying to buy membership for new account but cannot as Apple ID is linked to old account which already has membership. It’s been quite frustrating with no clear way to get a response from support team… hope they fix it n in an otherwise great app!

I haven’t even played in real life but won🙂. The hints are very helpful. I recommend this to any people who are new to the game.

It is so fun, but maybe instead of not letting kids do everything for free, let it happen! I know you need money, but we are kids! We should learn to pay for stuff at 16! Anyway, when you have the downgraded version it still is the best!

App is not showing the games played with computer. App won’t refresh or show the online fried unless it is force closed and reopened. Also the lessons help tips text and readout text is not working intermittently. Kindly fix as soon as possible.

Sadly for a Parent there are a lot of features missing from the app that can only be used on the website. Only puzzles and bots are available. While we miss out on clubs, events, management, coaching and tournaments. When is the app going to get these features?
